1. Your relationships determine your happiness and success in life.
No amount of money, achievement, or fame can relieve the sting of conflicted relationships, the irritation of frustrating relationships, the wounds of hurtful relationships, the pain of broken relationships, or the ache of loneliness. When your relationships are out of order, it’s hard to think of anything else.
2. Evil forces around you—cultural, economic, and spiritual—are attacking your relationships every day. They want defeat and destroy your relationships.
Almost nothing in society today supports you in building healthy, godly relationships. The media, peer-pressure, entertainment, your job, and everything else works to keep you from experiencing a healthy marriage, family, friendships, and even business partnerships that God intends to use in your life to make you Christlike.
3. Healthy relationships aren’t automatic or easy. You are in a battle for your relationships and you must fight to develop and preserve them!
Today, all your relationships are under attack, and when you see all the opposition, it’s easy to be discouraged. But God says your marriage, your family, your friends, and your relationships are worth fighting for! You must not give in without a fight! When Nehemiah saw the attacks on the families of his day, he challenged them,
4. God wants your relationships to be more than just fair… or average… or good… or even great. He wants your relationships to be AWESOME!
Awesome relationships cause the world to stand up and take notice because they are so different from the dysfunctional relationships all around us. Jesus said that awesome relationships are our #1 witness to the world. “THIS is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the KIND OF LOVE you have for each other!" John 13:35. I want you to experience the KIND OF LOVE Jesus intends for your relationships.
